The three males arrested in relation to Wednesday’s ammunition seizure have been revealed.
They are Cordell O’Neal, 38-year-old of Fresh Water Pond; Kanmi O’Neal, 34-year-old of Pockwood Pond; and Jelani Christopher, 31-year-old, of Cane Garden Bay, who are all jointly charged with Unlawful Possession of Explosives.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) confirmed the names in a media release on Thursday, September 21.
“Police received information that men, armed with firearms, were traversing Road Town, raising concerns for the safety of residents. As a result, several vehicles, including one occupied by the three men, were stopped and searched in the Road Town area. During the search a loaded magazine with 31 rounds of high-velocity ammunition was recovered,” the RVIPF stated.
Police said all three men will remain in police custody pending their appearance at the Magistrate’s Court at the next available sitting.
Commenting on the breakthrough, Commissioner of Police, Mark Collins, expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of citizens in the community.
“I appreciate the ongoing support from the public and the force values their continued commitment to assisting us with maintaining safety and security,” he stated.
