CIVIL REGISTRY AND PASSPORT OFFICE RESUMES ISSUING BELONGER CARDS

The Civil Registry and Passport Office has announced that it has resumed issuing Belonger Cards to eligible individuals. The issuance of these cards had previously been disrupted due to a system-related issue.

According to a press release from the office this week, this problem was diagnosed and subsequently resolved by the Department of Information Technology, allowing the office to continue its services.

The Registrar General, Mrs. Tashi O’Flaherty-Maduro, expressed her satisfaction with the resolution of the issue in the press release.

She stated, “We are pleased to now be able to provide a full complement of services. Thanks to the work of the Department of Information Technology, we can once again continue processing and printing Belonger Cards for persons deemed to belong to the Virgin Islands.”

Mrs. O’Flaherty-Maduro also took the opportunity to thank the public for their patience during this interruption and apologized for any inconvenience it may have caused.

Contact the department at 468-3035 or email infocris@gov.vg to secure an appointment to renew or apply for a new Belongers Card.
