The Elmore Stoutt High School will resume normal classes on Monday, October 9, 2023. This comes after a brief delay in the resumption of in-person sessions, which was necessitated by the recent flooding caused by the passage of Tropical Storm Philippe.
Classes were initially slated to resume on Friday, October 6th, however, a decision was made to further postpone the return of students to the classroom due to continued response to the effects of flooding on the campus.
According to a release from the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, “The reasons for the delayed resumption of in-person sessions are due to sustained saturation of the school grounds, and to allow the Ministry of Education to properly sanitise the affected classrooms and other rooms on campus, following the flood.”
During this time students’ assignments are being communicated via Google Classroom.
