IT BROUGHT BACK MEMORIES FROM 2017 – RESIDENT ON HEAVY RAINFALL IN D1

The heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Philippe left several areas across Tortola flooded and for many residents, the scenes brought back horrid memories from September 2017 during the passage of Hurricane Maria.

First District resident Wayne Walters in an interview with 284 Media near his Carrot Bay residence on Wednesday, said the rainfall had resulted in a nearby ghut accumulating lots of water, the same ghut that he said caused his neighbourhood to flood back in 2017.

It was his 2017 experience that prompted Walters to check the ghut early on Wednesday morning to prevent any similar flooding from reoccurring.

Present in Carrot Bay was District Representative, Dr. the Honourable Karl Dawson, who was conducting an assessment of the damage done to his district from Tropical Storm Philippe.

He provided some insight on the areas that were affected.
