4 MEN CHARGED IN RELATION TO FRIDAY’S BUST – GUNS, AMMO & COCAINE SEIZED

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has charged four men in relation to Friday’s police operation which resulted in the seizure of guns, ammunition and drugs.

They are 27-year-old Omari Roberts of Hannah’s Estate, 32-year-old Everette Isaac, 44-year-old Pedro Mercedes Soto, and 28-year-old Odai Abdulsalam.

Roberts is charged with two counts of Keeping a Prohibited Firearm without a Licence and three counts of Unlawful Possession of Explosives, while Isaac, Soto and Abdulsalam of the Valley, Virgin Gorda, are charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply Another.

Police in a media release on Saturday confirmed that two assault rifles, a significant amount of assorted ammunition and cocaine were found during the operation on Friday.

Speaking on the breakthrough Commissioner of Police, Mark Collins, thanked the hardworking and dedicated officers from the various units who participated in the investigations.

He also renewed his appreciation for the support of law-abiding members of the public in assisting the RVIPF in its fight against organized criminal activities in the territory.
