Jenese “Chef Jen” Adams has won a coveted “Golden Ticket” from retail giant Walmart.
Her winning product, “Jenesis Seasoning: Dried Caribbean Green Seasoning”, is set to bring a taste of the Caribbean to kitchens across the United States.
Walmart awarded 60 “Golden Tickets” to entrepreneurs following an Open Call event on Wednesday.
During this event, entrepreneurs were given a 20-minute window to impress the company’s buyer teams with their products.
Chef Jen expressed her excitement in a recent Facebook post saying, “As a diverse supplier, minority-owned business, representation means everything to us . Thank you Walmart for giving us the opportunity to present “Jenesis” the 1st ever-dried version of our traditional Caribbean Green Seasoning. WE GOT A GOLDEN TICKET FOR OPEN CALL 2023 !”.
The Golden Ticket provides businesses with the opportunity to have their products sold on Walmart shelves nationwide.
Her seasoning line, which includes the winning Dried Caribbean Green Seasoning, reflects her Caribbean heritage. The packaging of her products proudly displays the flags of the British Virgin Islands and St Vincent and the Grenadines, a nod to her roots.
After graduating from the New England Culinary Institute’s satellite campus, here in the BVI, with a degree in Culinary Arts, Chef Jen went on to grace the kitchens of renowned establishments across the Territory, including Peter Island Resort, Bitter End Yacht Club, Long Bay Beach Resort and Treasure Isle Hotel.
