The Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital wishes to inform the public that effective immediately, there will be a temporary interruption to its Pharmacy Services.
Starting Tuesday October 31, 2023, and continuing through to November 29, 2023, our outpatient pharmacy services will be accessible exclusively through WhatsApp at (284) 440-1726 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM on those two days. Medications ordered via WhatsApp during this period can be picked up on our regular operation days – Monday, Thursday, and Friday – during our usual hours of operation.
The BVIHSA say they remain dedicated to providing the highest quality healthcare services to the community. The agency stated, “In line with this commitment, we are pleased to announce that the interruption in service is due to an upgrade of our Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinets; to the new Omnicell XT fleet. The upgrade is to enhance the medication delivery process and improve inpatient experience by ensuring the right medication reaches the right patient safely and efficiently. “
Adding that, “We understand that these changes may cause some inconvenience, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption this may cause. Please rest assured that this upgrade is vital to elevate our pharmacy services, ensuring the highest level of patient care. Our primary focus remains on your health and well-being.”
