“DYAS PROMOTING YOUTH IN BUSINESS” A RESOUNDING SUCCESS

This past weekend the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports held a Youth Business Expo as part of its “DYAS Promoting Youth in Business”, three day event.

The event has been dubbed a success by the department who recently thanked the general public for their support and attendance. 

They said, “Your presence helped make the event successful and provided valuable exposure to young entrepreneurs and aspiring youth-preneurs. Thank you for your participation and for being a part of promoting the future of business for young people.”

Several of the participating entreprenuers were interviewed by the Acting Director of Communications Mrs. Karia Christopher during the event which was live streamed by the Government Information Services (GIS).

The participants impressed with their knowledge and love for conducting business in the territory.

The department also congratulated the young participants in the initative saying ” We congratulate all the young entrepreneurs and aspiring youth-preneurs who participated in the expo. Without a doubt, you will achieve even greater things in the future.”

The Youth Business Expo, a platform showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit of young visionaries, has concluded with a series of awards recognizing the most outstanding participants. The event was a vibrant display of innovation, creativity, and business acumen, as participants competed for top honours in various categories.

The award for the Best Promotional Booth was clinched by High Society Templates, who received a cash prize of $500.00 from MEYAS and a professional headshot package courtesy of Beyond the Décor. 

Krissential Beauty impressed the judges with their compelling business pitch, earning them the top prize in this category. They were awarded $500.00 from MEYAS and a cheque/trade license fee for 2024 provided by emcs. 

High Society Templates also took home the Most Innovative Award. Along with another $500.00 from MEYAS, they also received billboard advertising from BVI Hot Press Advertising.

The Aspiring Youth-preneur Award for the 14-17 age group was awarded to J Qrochet Designs. This young entrepreneur received $500.00 from MEYAS and an additional cash prize from the Mercer Group.

In the 9-13 age group, Sips and Sweets Feel Good Treats emerged victorious, securing the Aspiring Youth-preneur Award along with a $500.00 prize from MEYAS. 

All youth entrepreneurs and aspiring youth-preneurs who participated in the expo were honored with a Certificate of Participation, acknowledging their efforts and encouraging them to continue their entrepreneurial journey.
