RECENT ARRESTS SHOW POLICE TRAINING TAKING EFFECT SAYS GOVERNOR

Governor John Rankin recently noted that efforts to strengthen the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) are producing tangible results.

This, he said, is evidenced by growing success in intercepting criminals and contraband.  

He highlighted that a key intervention was a $2 million investment from the UK Government, towards expanded police training.

He noted that a number of major successes have been recorded following that investment.

According to a recent police arrest blotter, three burglary suspects were apprehended from November 23rd to the 26th. These were 33-year-old Mikhail Howe of Lower Estate, 45-year-old David Baronville of Long Bush, and 32-year-old Kempes Nicholls of Wickhams Cay 1.

Howe and Baronville were both charged with burglary offences. Meanwhile, Nicholls faced three burglary charges alongside two counts of handling stolen goods.
