The Virgin Islands Department of Human Resources is preparing to roll out a new talent management system called TALEO aimed at upgrading and streamlining onboarding and workforce processes.
The technology promises a more transparent, efficient hiring experience.
In coming weeks, the TALEO platform will be accessible through the government website for job seekers to view openings, submit applications, and receive status updates on their progress.
Users will create accounts to access personalized hiring information.
The system intends to improve communication between applicants and recruiters, quickening orientation timeframes for new public sector hires. Its dashboard also allows tracking application status in real-time.
According to Permanent Secretary Sharleen DaBreo-Lettsome, the initiative aligns with reimagining human resource operations in a more modern, technology-driven manner.
It forms part of the department’s “New HR Vision”.
TALEO will additionally help manage personnel moves within the public service as employees seek new roles and departments. Streamlined internal transfer capabilities will be a key asset.
Training is currently underway to prepare human resources staffers across government ministries and agencies for the system rollout.
