ANEGADA RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECT 40% COMPLETE – TO FINISH IN 2024

The Anegada Hybrid Renewable Energy and Battery Energy Storage System (Bess) Project is estimated to be 40 percent complete.

This is according to the Deputy General Manager of the BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) Symorne Penn who confirmed the latest stage of the project in a recent interview with 284 Media.

Penn spoke about the delays that have been impacting the project and revealed that it is set to be completed within the fourth quarter of 2024.

Despite the global inflation that has resulted following the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, Penn said the $4.6 million project remained in budget with the original projected costs.

She also took the time to detail the work that has been conducted to date.

The contract for the project was awarded to Power52 in July 2020 and signed in November 2021.  It was not until December 2022 that the groundbreaking ceremony was held to officially commence work on the project.
