Cruise Ship Visitors
The majority of tourists arrived via cruise ships, with a total of 719,519 cruise ship visitors. This represents a 109% increase compared to the previous year. The month of March was particularly busy, with 107,569 cruise ship visitors. The most significant growth in this category occurred in July, with 32,943 cruise ship visitors, an increase of 233%.
Overnight Visitors
The BVI welcomed 261,445 overnight visitors, a 50% increase from 2022. Again, March proved to be the most popular month, with 29,826 overnight visitors. The most substantial growth in this category was observed in January, with 24,562 overnight visitors, an increase of 94%.
Day Trippers
13,289 day-trippers visited the BVI in 2023, marking a 104% increase compared to the previous year. November saw the highest number of day trippers, with 1,489 visitors. The most significant growth in this category was seen in September, with 1232 day trippers, an increase of 297%.
On its current trajectory, 2024 is likely to be a record-breaking year for Tourism in the BVI.
