GOVERNOR DESIGNATE DANIEL PRUCE HAS LANDED – SWEARING-IN CEREMONY SET FOR MONDAY

Governor Designate Daniel Pruce has arrived in the British Virgin Islands ahead of his swearing-in ceremony on Monday.

Pruce and his wife Rachael Morgan received a warm reception at the Terrance B Lettsome International Airport on Friday evening.

Expressing his delight upon arrival, Pruce conveyed gratitude for the warm welcome received and said he is looking forward to serving the territory as the new governor.

“I look forward to being sworn in as Governor on Monday. It will be a privilege to serve the people of the islands and to work in collaboration with a wide range of partners to continue to build a secure and prosperous future for BVI,” he stated.

With over 30 years of experience in the public service, Pruce brings a wealth of knowledge and diplomatic expertise to his new role.

“His most recent overseas post was serving as British Ambassador to the Philippines from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Madrid from 2012 to 2016 and at the British Embassy in Bangkok from 2008 to 2012. Mr Pruce most recently worked as Director of Communication at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) from 2021 to 2022,” the Governor’s Group stated.

The Swearing-In ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Supreme Court and will be live-streamed via the Government Information Service (GIS) from 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
