SUSPECTED CHEMICAL-EXPOSURE LEAVES ONE MALE DEAD AND THREE HOSPITALIZED

An incident involving suspected chemical exposure on a Barge in Pockwood Pond Tortola B.V.I has claimed the life of one male leaving three hospitalized. 

The incident which is under investigation occurred earlier today Saturday February 17th around 9am at a worksite. 

In a statement the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force stated, “The RVIPF can confirm a report received regarding an incident on a barge near Pockwood Pond after 9am today. Initial investigations suggest that a male entered a tank on the barge and lost consciousness. Two additional males entered to rescue him and also lost consciousness.”

Additionally, authorities confirmed that all individuals have been recovered. Unfortunately, one person is deceased, and their identity remains unknown.” 

The other three individuals are conscious but experiencing respiratory difficulties and have been transported to Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital for treatment.”
