The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission say they are excited to announce the “Taste of Virgin Gorda,” the second Food Fete event for the year, a spectacular culinary event that will take place at the Nail Bay Sugar Works Virgin Gorda National Park (Ruins at Nail Bay) on Saturday, 16th March, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Set against this historic backdrop of breathtaking views, the event promises to be a gastronomic journey like no other.
“Taste of Virgin Gorda” will feature a selection of the island’s renowned restaurants including Winnie’s Steakhouse, Island Pot, Chez Bamboo, Coco Maya, Jerk Pit, Top of The Baths, Rock Café, MOKA, The Village Café, Lee’s Roadside Bar & Grill, and Sugarcane Restaurant; each serving sample-sized plates of their signature dishes. Attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in a variety of delectable flavours, highlighting the island’s vibrant culinary scene.
To complement the culinary experience, the event will feature an open wine bar that will allow patrons to sample a wide variety of wines as they savour the flavours of Virgin Gorda.
Tickets for this event are priced at $100 per person and includes convenient roundtrip ground transportation between the St Thomas Bay Jetty on Virgin Gorda and the Nail Bay Sugar Works. Tickets can be purchased at the BVI Tourist Board’s booths at the BVI Ports Authority Building, St. Thomas Bay Jetty, and the Road Town Jetty. Proceeds raised from this event will go towards a tourism education grant to support deserving students in the territory. To complement the evening, premium entertainment will be provided by saxophonist Issa Alexander, Final Faze, VI Groove Project and DJ Dre.
Director of Tourism Mr. Clive McCoy encouraged persons to get their tickets. Stating, “Get your tickets while they are still available, as you don’t want to miss out on this extraordinary culinary event, where guests not only get to enjoy an evening of culinary excellence and entertainment under the stars, but also have the pleasure of contributing to the education and future of deserving students.”
For those travelling from Tortola, a special round trip ferry rate of $25.00 on Speedy’s has been secured, with proof of event ticket purchase.
