The Government of the Virgin Islands has announced a series of new appointments and reappointments to the Board of Directors of the National Parks Trust of the Virgin Islands.
In accordance with the National Parks Act, 2006, the following appointments have been made:
Clyde Lettsome has been appointed as a member and Chairman of the Board for a two-year term from March 15, 2024 to March 14, 2026.
Alesia Hamm has been re-appointed as a member and secretary, representing the business community, for a two-year term from March 15, 2024 to March 14, 2026.
Lianna Jarecki has been re-appointed as a science/technical member for a two-year term from March 15, 2024 to March 14, 2026.
The following individuals have been appointed for three-year terms from March 15, 2024 to March 14, 2027:
- Darrell Ruan, Jr. (Representative of Anegada)
- Justine Callwood (Representative of Jost Van Dyke)
- Shanique Creque (Representative of Virgin Gorda)
- Isha Hodge (Science/Technical Member)
- Lauralee Mercer-Williams (Science/Technical Member)
- Fayola Wilson-Creque (Business Community Representative)
Dawn Corea-Leonard, representing Tortola and the business community, has been appointed for a two-year term from March 15, 2024 to March 14, 2026.
In terms of remuneration, the Chairman will receive $800 per month, while non-government members will receive $500 per month.
The National Parks Trust oversees the territory’s national parks, protected areas and environmental programs. These new appointments will help guide the Trust’s operations and priorities over the coming years.
