Recently the Deputy Premier of the Virgin Islands Hon. Lorna G Smith OBE, during a press conference announced that she would be opening a district office on the sister island of Anegada and on Friday, April 12th, 2024, became the first elected representative to open a constituency office on Anegada.
The At-Large representative who also holds Ministerial responsibilities for the Ministry of Financial Services, Labour and Trade said in a Facebook post, “Last Friday tears came to my eyes as history was made with the opening of the first constituency office on Anegada. The resilience and hard work of Anegadians have always impressed me. I am honored to support you both as your at large representative and as Minster for FSL&T.”
She added, “I am pleased to share this office with my colleague Hon. Vincent Wheatley, district representative. Thanks Sylvia Faulkner for being my ears and eyes on the ground until I can get over twice per month.”
The office which is located in The Settlement, will be managed by Ms Sylvia V. Faulkner and shared by Minister for Health and Social Development Hon. Vincent O. Wheatley in his capacity as Ninth District Representative.
