The Sophie Bay road is reopened to the public after the completion of necessary clean-up efforts following the incident involving an overturned truck that left the road covered in debris and fuel on Friday.
Following the initial incident, the road was covered in sand, much to the confusion of some members of the motoring public.
Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Service later explained that this was to soak up the fuel spilled onto the road so it could be more effectively removed.
VIFRS officers continued their clean-up and mitigation efforts on Saturday morning, leading to a reopening of the roadway to the motoring public just before 10 am.
