Following disruptions caused by Tuesday’s flash flooding, the Ministry of Education has announced the resumption of in-person learning on Thursday, May 9 for all schools except the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS).
In a statement issued this morning, the ministry confirmed that classes will proceed as scheduled, with particular emphasis on the continuation of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) examinations.
Despite ongoing cleanup efforts at ESHS, the ministry disclosed that online learning methods will persist for students at the affected institution due to challenges in completing the debris cleanup surrounding the campus.
Meanwhile, the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC), along with its Virgin Gorda Centre, also announced plans to resume regular operations on Thursday.
The college noted that all scheduled exams will resume as planned, with in-person invigilation ensuring the integrity of assessment procedures. Additionally, administrative offices at HLSCC will operate during regular office hours to accommodate student inquiries and support services.
