CIBONEY AND ESHS TRIUMPH IN SECONDARY FOREIGN LANGUAGES BOWL

The Ciboney Centre for Excellence and the Elmore Stoutt High School emerged as champions of the 2024 Secondary School Foreign Languages Bowl, showcasing their mastery in Spanish and French respectively.

The competition, which featured six schools from across the Virgin Islands, witnessed Ciboney Centre for Excellence clinch the Spanish segment title. With an impressive performance in spelling, translation, and general knowledge, the trio of Kristian Young, Kellyann Tillack, and Eva Fox secured victory for the Virgin Gorda school. This win marked a double triumph for Ciboney, following their success in the Primary School Foreign Language Bowl earlier in May.

Claiming the second spot in the Spanish segment was the Bregado Flax Educational Centre, while the Claudia Creque Educational Centre secured third place. Rounding off the participating schools were St. Georges Secondary, the Elmore Stoutt High School, and Cedar International.

In the French segment, the battle for supremacy unfolded between the Elmore Stoutt High School and the Bregado Flax Educational Centre.

Ultimately, it was the Elmore Stoutt High School that emerged victorious, thanks to the stellar performance of Luz Kelly King and Onya Joseph. Their proficiency in French outshone the efforts of Jovianne Walter and Jayla Levons of Bregado Flax, securing the championship title for Elmore Stoutt.
