BVIslander Kyron McMaster delivered an impressive performance at the Wanda Diamond League Bislett Games in Oslo, Norway, on Friday, securing a third-place finish in the men’s 400-meter hurdles.
Running against some of his top competition for the upcoming Paris Olympic Games, the world number three McMaster clocked a time of 48.49 seconds.
The race was a thrilling contest, with Brazilian Alison Dos Santos and world number one ranked Karsten Warholm of Norway battling for the top spot. In a stunning upset, Dos Santos edged out Warholm, crossing the finish line in 46.63 seconds, while Warholm, racing in front of his home crowd, finished closely behind with a time of 46.70 seconds.
McMaster’s third-place finish reaffirms his status as one of the top hurdlers in the world and sets a positive tone for his preparations leading up to the Paris Olympics.
