HLSCC CELEBRATES 2024 GRADUATION: EMPOWERING MINDS, SHAPING FUTURES

H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) hosted its 2024 graduation ceremony recently celebrating the achievements of 186 students under the theme “Empowering Minds, Limitless Futures.

HLSCC President Dr Richard Georges opened the ceremony in celebration of the graduates, noting the hard work they each exhibited to arrive at this milestone.

Premier Dr. Natalio Wheatley offered his congratulations and encouraged the graduates to pursue their dreams.

Top honors went to Ryan Ramlall and Renata Gerald-Green, each awarded $10,000 from the Ministry of Education to support their future academic endeavours.

Minister of Education Sharie de Castro addressed the gathering, praising the graduates’ accomplishments. She highlighted the success of the Let’s Teach VI initiative, a collaboration between the Ministry and HLSCC designed to address teacher shortages. Ten of the day’s graduates were part of this program, transitioning from recruits to full-fledged teachers in the territory’s education system.

The Minister also noted the completion of a 17-month hybrid course for aspiring educational leaders, which produced 22 graduates with certificates in Effective Education Leadership.
