FORMER PS AND EDUCATOR MR. ELROY TURNBULL HAS DIED

Longstanding Civil Servant Mr. Elory Tubull has died at the age of 73. The announcement was made by his family in an official notice.

Turnbull served in various capacities throughout his time as a public servant including: Educator, Chief Education Officer and Permanent Secretary in the then Chief Minister’s Office.

Turnbull was also an avid lover of sports and served as the first BVI Basketball Federation Public Relations Officer/Statistician. Mr. Dean Greenaway in a post shared a tribute stating, “Deepest condolences to the family of Elroy Turnbull, the 1st BVI Basketball Federation Public Relations Officer/Statistician, a strong supporter/follower of sports & Culture. In Dec 2018, he was happy to meet Basketball Player Joy Victor, the only woman currently in Collegiate Basketball.”

Turnbull was also very vocal on issues affecting the territory and shared his views by appearing on local radio programmes. Since his passing, tributes have begun to pour in from the Virgin Islands and its diaspora.
