CONCRETE POUR MARKS PROGRESS ON TRELLIS BAY WELCOME CENTRE

Construction of the Trellis Bay Welcome Centre on Beef Island advanced this past weekend as crews poured concrete for the facility’s floor slab, including a wheelchair-accessible ramp.

Workers from No Limit Construction Services spent Saturday afternoon on site, focusing on the ADA-compliant features that will ensure equitable access for all users. The ramp is a key component in making the structure accessible to individuals with disabilities.

The Welcome Centre, when completed, will serve as a departure lounge for visitors and residents awaiting scheduled departures. It will also provide male and female restroom facilities, addressing a long-standing need in the area.

This project, a collaboration between the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) and the BVI Tourist Board, aims to upgrade the gateway experience for travelers arriving by sea through Trellis Bay from the Sister Islands.
