In honour of Remembrance Day, His Excellency Governor Daniel Pruce led a ceremony at Government House on Monday, November 11, to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by past and present soldiers.
Despite inclement weather necessitating a scaled-down event, the ceremony was attended by Premier Dr. the Hon. Natalio Wheatley, Health and Social Development Minister Hon. Vincent Wheatley, Deputy Governor David Archer Jr., Attorney General Hon. Dawn Smith, and several past veterans.
In his address, Governor Pruce emphasized the importance of Remembrance Day as a time to pause, reflect, and honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Governor Pruce also shared his personal reflections on the impact of the world wars, drawing from his family’s own experiences in service.
Further, Governor Pruce acknowledged how the world wars influenced the Virgin Islands, highlighting the resilience and contributions of the local community during those times.
