VICTIM IN BOATING INCIDENT IDENTIFIED AS STEPHEN CROSS JR. OF THE USVI

Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) are investigating a tragic marine accident that occurred on Friday 26th November after 6 pm in the vicinity of Saba Rock. Preliminary reports indicate that a 21-foot RHIB collided with a dinghy, resulting in serious injuries to one individual.

The victim who has been identified as Stephen Cross Jr., a 39-year-old resident of St. Thomas, USVI, was immediately transported to the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic and subsequently the Dr. Orlando Smith Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Mr. Cross succumbed to his injuries.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
