Jae’Nyiah Defreitas made history on Thursday, December 12, by becoming the first-ever Angel of Christmas at the Francis Lettsome Primary School (FLPS) pageant.
The event, held at the Eileen L. Parsons Auditorium at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC), saw Defreitas dominate four of the five judged categories, outshining her peers to earn the prestigious crown.
Defreitas competed against four other contestants representing grades 2 to 6, with Samika Carty finishing as 1st Runner-Up and Arianna Serrant placing as 2nd Runner-Up.
Defreitas swept the competition with wins in multiple categories including Best Ugly Sweater – a fun and festive outfit that stole the spotlight; Best Christmas Talent – showcasing her creativity and skills on stage; Christmas Formal Wear – impressing the judges with elegance and poise; and Christmas Question & Answer – demonstrating confidence and thoughtfulness in her responses.
The inaugural pageant was met with enthusiasm and praise from the school community. In a social media post, FLPS extended congratulations to all the contestants, recognizing their hard work, creativity, and holiday spirit.
