The Family Support Network (FSN) received a $10,000 donation from Drakes Traders Ltd., marking the company’s continued commitment to supporting families in need within the Virgin Islands.
The seasonal contribution was presented on December 17 at Drakes Traders’ Fish Bay location, where representatives from both organizations gathered for the occasion.
In acknowledgement of Drakes Traders’ consistent generosity, FSN presented the company with its Community Spirit Award, celebrating its unwavering dedication to fostering positive change.
“Drakes Traders has been a pillar of strength for FSN and the families we serve,” said Ms. Dorolie Donovan, FSN Case Manager.
The funds will aid FSN in restocking the community pantry, providing emergency shelter and food for individuals and families and will offer counselling services and job placement support.
Ms. Donovan highlighted the timeliness of the donation, particularly during the holiday season when demand for FSN’s services significantly increases.
Breaking the Cycle of Abuse
Speaking on the initiative, FSN said it aims to provide both immediate assistance and long-term solutions for those affected by domestic violence and abuse. Services such as professional counselling and skill enhancement workshops help individuals rebuild their lives and escape the cycle of abuse.
Drakes Traders Managing Director, Mr. Christian Esser, emphasized the company’s enduring partnership with FSN.
“We believe in the transformative work that FSN does… There is always work to be done, and we remain committed to assisting,” Esser stated.
