WANTED MAN ARRESTED IN ATTEMPTED MURDER CASE – SECOND SUSPECT AT LARGE

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has confirmed the arrest of 22-year-old Shemoi Carey of Huntum’s Ghut, Tortola, who was previously wanted in connection with the attempted murder of K’zhari Stoutt on November 8, 2024.

Carey has been charged with Attempted Murder, Carrying an Unlicensed Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Explosives.

As part of the investigation, two individuals were also taken into custody on Suspicion of Assisting an Offender. After being interviewed by detectives, they were released pending further inquiries.

While one suspect is in custody, the RVIPF continues to seek public assistance in locating the second wanted individual, 18-year-old K’Shawn Martin of Sand Box Road.

The police urge anyone with information on Martin’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers confidentially at 800-8477 (TIPS) or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339. All tips provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Warning Against Assisting Offenders

The RVIPF has reminded the public that assisting or harbouring offenders with the knowledge that they are wanted is a serious crime. According to Section 352 of the Criminal Code, Revised Edition 2013, such actions can result in imprisonment for three to ten years.

The investigation into this case remains ongoing, and the police have assured the public that further updates will be shared as they become available.
