The British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) say they are pleased to have received a generous donation of three laptops, four cell phones, and three air purifiers from Harneys. These items were donated to the Primary Health Care Department, which is charged with managing the community health services – including the various clinics throughout the territory.
This thoughtful contribution, that was made on Thursday, January 9, 2025, highlights the importance of private sector partnerships in supporting healthcare delivery across the Territory. Tanya Cassie-Parker, Managing Partner at Harneys, emphasized the company’s commitment to community well-being, stating, “We truly value and appreciate the hard work that the HSA puts into safeguarding the health and well-being of our community and we’re proud to play a part in supporting their vital mission,” said added “Through contributions like these, we aim to make a tangible difference by enhancing their resources and strengthening their ability to deliver exceptional care and foster a healthier, stronger community for everyone in the BVI.”
The donation is part of Harneys’ response to identified needs within the Primary Health Care division and reflects their willingness to partner with the BVIHSA to address these needs. The laptops and cell phones will enhance communication and administrative efficiency, while the air purifiers will contribute to creating a healthier environment for both patients and staff.
Dr. Natasha Frett, Director of Primary Health Care, expressed gratitude for Harneys’ contribution, saying, “We are incredibly grateful to Harneys for their generous support. These items will greatly assist us in improving our day-to-day operations and the quality of care we provide. Partnerships like this are vital in helping us fulfill our mission of delivering exceptional healthcare to the people of the BVI.”
“This donation from Harneys sets a positive tone for 2025, demonstrating how collective efforts can address critical needs in our healthcare system. We look forward to fostering more partnerships as we continue our mission to improve health outcomes for all,” said Dr. June Samuel, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the BVIHSA.
