USVI MAN ARRESTED AFTER SEIZURE OF 200 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION

A man from the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) was arrested in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) after officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) discovered approximately 200 rounds of ammunition during a stop-and-search operation.

Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool confirmed the arrest at a press conference on Wednesday, describing the operation as part of an active night of law enforcement across the territory.

Vanterpool also disclosed that it was an active night of policing for officers of the RVIPF as several reports of gunshots were received across various communities in the BVI.

The acting commissioner urged members of the public to remain vigilant and to provide any information that could aid the police in their investigations.

Further updates on the case and the ongoing investigations will be shared as new information emerges, she assured.
