The Virgin Islands has welcomed Mrs. Loren K. Ryan-Rymer as the newly appointed Registrar of Interests, following the retirement of former Registrar Ms. Phyllis Evans.
Mrs. Ryan-Rymer brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served for over 25 years in the Public Service, including a notable tenure as Human Resources Manager within the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force.
In welcoming Mrs. Ryan-Rymer, His Excellency Governor Daniel Pruce commended Ms. Evans for her impressive contributions during her career and highlighted the significance of Mrs. Ryan-Rymer’s appointment.
“Mrs. Ryan-Rymer’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as we work to advance the systems that contribute to the effective administration of the legislation that guides the Registration of Interests. As an experienced and qualified professional, I am confident that she will be able to lead well in this capacity,” Governor Pruce stated.
As Registrar, Mrs. Ryan-Rymer will oversee the documentation of financial interests and liabilities of elected members of the House of Assembly and specified officers in accordance with the Public Service Management Act. She will also serve as Clerk to the Standing Select Committee in the House of Assembly, ensuring legislative compliance and transparency.
Speaking on her new role, Mrs. Ryan-Rymer expressed her gratitude and commitment:

In her capacity as Registrar, Mrs. Ryan-Rymer aims to ensure the Register of Interests remains accurate, accessible, and effectively managed in alignment with governing legislation.
Her appointment marks a forward step in strengthening the systems that support transparency and accountability within the Virgin Islands’ Public Service.
