WALWYN CRITICIZES UNFINISHED ROAD PROJECTS, TERRITORY MAINTENANCE

Sixth District Representative Myron Walwyn has criticized the British Virgin Islands government’s handling of infrastructure projects, particularly questioning the management of unfinished roadworks across the territory.

“If the government has a plan to fix the roads, they are certainly doing a great job at hiding it,” Walwyn said, pointing to incomplete road projects initiated during the final quarter of 2024. He specifically highlighted the unfinished roadwork between Manchester and Belle Vue as an example of poor planning.

The former minister expressed particular concern about the territory’s appearance during the current tourism season, citing issues with derelict vehicles and overgrown vegetation. Walwyn described the government’s approach to territorial maintenance as “lacklustre.”

His comments come as the community continues to grapple with various infrastructure challenges affecting both residents and visitors to the territory.
