During a recent radio interview on local show Tola Radio, the Premier of the Virgin Islands Dr. the Hon. Natalio Wheatley provided an update on the delayed minimum wage increase.
Premier Wheatley said updates will be forthcoming with the possibility of a phased increase approach.
The leader of government business also shared that considerations are being made for the possibility of an increase to the tax exemption amount from $10,000 to $15,000.
In speaking on the cost of living and drawing from recent international treaties happening in the United States, Dr. Wheatley said he is planning a trade mission to the Dominican Republic to lobby for agreements that can better assist the BVI in exporting goods from the neighbouring country.
