BVI READY AHEAD OF CONCACAF MATCH AGAINST ST. MAARTEN TODAY

With their sights set on a strong start at the 2025 CONCACAF Under-17 Men’s Qualifiers in Costa Rica, the British Virgin Islands (BVI) national team is ready to showcase its talent in the region’s premier youth competition.

The team will kick off their campaign against St. Maarten today Friday, February 7.

Speaking at a press conference before the squad’s departure on Wednesday, Head Coach Clinton “Tinnie” Percival emphasized the team’s commitment to competing at a high level.

The BVI team has been training consistently at least four times a week, according to BVI Football Association (BVIFA) Technical Director Paul Decle. He noted that the tournament will provide an important benchmark to assess the progress of youth football in the BVI.

Placed in Group B, BVI faces a challenging line-up after their opening match against St. Maarten. They will then take on Trinidad and Tobago on February 9, host nation Costa Rica on February 11, and Guyana on February 16.

The winner of the group will earn a coveted spot in the 2025 FIFA Under-17 World Cup, making each game a crucial battle.
