Businessman and horseman Mr. Alex Lake in a recent episode of The Art of a Distinguished Gentleman weighed in on the ongoing battle to solidify a robust pari-mutuel betting commission in the Virgin Islands.
The question was posed as Christian liberals in the Virgin Islands continue to push against such a development. Lake credited former Premier Andrew Fahie for passing the Gaming and Betting Act despite the Christian community’s pushback.
Lake suggested that persons fighting against such expansions are hampering the development of not only the sport but also the territory.
