AG. COP REFUTES ALLEGATIONS OF CONFRONTATION WITH ACP TREVILLION

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has strongly refuted allegations made in a recent local media article titled, “Assistant COP Pam Trevillion Said to be on Forced Leave.”

In an official statement, Acting Commissioner Jacqueline Vanterpool dismissed the article’s claims as “erroneous, misleading, and misinformation.” She emphasized that there was no physical confrontation between herself and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Pam Trevillion, nor has there been any investigation of assault involving the ACP.

Ag. Commissioner Vanterpool cautioned media houses against the spread of disinformation and misinformation, especially when such “spurious rumours” could have been easily verified by reaching out to her office. She highlighted the serious reputational damage that false claims can inflict on the Office of the Commissioner, ACP Trevillion, and the RVIPF as a whole.

“The content of this article is not only false but also unhelpful in maintaining harmonious relations within the police force,” Vanterpool stated.

In closing, Ag. Commissioner Vanterpool firmly distanced herself from the media report and stated that she will not be commenting further on what she called “obvious misinformation.”
