The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has formally charged 32-year-old George Ollivierre Jr. with Possession of a Prohibited Firearm and two counts of Unlawful Possession of Explosives after a targeted operation in the Threllfall area on Friday, February 6, 2025.
Ollivierre who was arrested with two other males was found in possession of 35 rounds of .45 calibre ammunition and one round of 9mm ammunition. He remains in police custody as he awaits his appearance before the Magistrate’s Court.
It remains unclear whether the two other males whose identities have not been released, will be charged in relation to the matter.
RVIPF’s Ongoing Crackdown on Illegal Firearms
The RVIPF noted that it is continuing its aggressive campaign against illegal firearms and gun-related crimes. Acting Commissioner Jacqueline Vanterpool reaffirmed law enforcement’s commitment to ensuring community safety, stating:
“The public is reminded that possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition is a serious offence, and law enforcement will take all necessary actions to ensure the safety of the community.”
