Connect Enterprise Ltd. has secured a $4 million contract to install a new sewer network system in Cane Garden Bay, culminating a four-year effort to address chronic sewerage issues in one of the territory’s key tourism destinations.
The contract signing on Monday represents “a moment of deep significance” that has spanned three premiers and three ministers of communications, according to Second District Representative Melvin ‘Mitch’ Turnbull.
He noted that the existing system includes 36 pump stations and has been plagued by constant overflow issues affecting public health and tourism.
The project aims to finally activate an existing treatment plant that has remained unused despite its completion. He challenged the contractor to have the task ahead executed and delivered on time.
