BVI Makes Waves at the Discover Boating Miami Int. Boat Show

The British Virgin Islands (BVI), renowned as the Sailing Capital of the Caribbean, made a splash at this year’s Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show. The show took place from February 12 to 16 across multiple venues, including the Miami Beach Convention Center, Pride Park, Herald Plaza, Venetian Marina, Museum Park Marina, and Superyacht Miami at IGY Yacht Haven Grande Miami, the show is one of the world’s premier boating events, drawing thousands of marine enthusiasts and industry professionals.

Leading the BVI delegation is Shaekhoya Matthew, Business Development Manager for the North American Southeast Region, British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission (BVITBFC). She is joined by representatives from the Virgin Islands Maritime Authority (VISMA) (formerly the Virgin Islands Shipping Registry) and NAAS, a BVI-based charter company. Together, they aim to promote the BVI’s world-class sailing experiences, luxury accommodations, and top-tier marine services to a global audience.

The BVITBFC will be exhibiting at Herald Plaza, Booth PH321, where visitors can discover why the BVI remains a top destination for sailing enthusiasts. In true BVI fashion, attendees can enjoy an authentic taste of island hospitality with a lively happy hour featuring the famous Painkiller cocktail and other island favourites, complemented by the vibrant sounds of live steelpan music. The happy hour will take place on Saturday from 4-6 PM and Sunday from 2-4 PM – a must-attend for those looking to experience the spirit of the islands firsthand.
