The 2024-25 BDO Schools League has officially crowned its champions, with Enid Scatliffe Primary, Bregado Flax Educational Centre, and Cedar International School emerging victorious in the Under-7, Under-9, and Under-12 divisions, respectively.
The finals, held on Sunday, February 23 at the Greenland Football Field, drew enthusiastic support from families, teachers, coaches, and sponsors.
The Under-7 final was the first matchup of the day, with Enid Scatliffe securing a dominant 4-0 win over Cedar International School. After a goalless first half, Enid Scatliffe took control in the second, with standout player Earlon Prescott scoring all four goals to seal the victory.
In the highly competitive Under-9 final, Bregado Flax Educational Centre edged out Robinson O’Neal Primary in a thrilling contest. Both teams showcased strong defensive plays, keeping the score level for much of the match. However, Brad Alfred broke the deadlock with a crucial goal, securing a narrow 1-0 victory for Bregado Flax.
The Under-12 final between St. Georges Primary and Robinson O’Neal Primary provided an action-packed contest. Robinson O’Neal took an early lead with a goal from Azariyah Creque, but St. Georges quickly responded with an equalizer from Christian Campbell, sending the teams into halftime tied 1-1. In the second half, St. Georges came out strong, netting three more goals—one from Gibran Tarabay and two from Trison D’Agiar—securing a 4-1 triumph and the championship title.
In addition to the champions, third-place finishes were claimed by Cedar International in the Under-7 division and the Ciboney Centre for Excellence in both the Under-9 and Under-12 divisions. The tournament showcased the rising talent of young footballers in the territory, highlighting the continued growth and enthusiasm for the sport.
The BDO Schools League remains a key platform for youth football development, fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among young players across the British Virgin Islands.
