Following the thrilling conclusion of the 2024-25 BDO Schools League, standout players were recognized for their exceptional performances in the Under-7, Under-9, and Under-12 divisions.
The competition, which showcased the talent and determination of young footballers across the territory, culminated in the presentation of individual awards for Golden Boot, Golden Glove, and Most Valuable Player in each division.
Earlon Prescott dominated the Under-7 division with an incredible 28-goal haul, leading Enid Scatliffe Primary to the championship. Teammate Adam Afoloyan Oloye was recognized as the top goalkeeper, while Cedar International’s Sebastian Cross was named Most Valuable Player for his outstanding all-around play.
In the Under-9 Category, Cedar International’s Shawari Pemberton earned the Golden Boot, netting 14 goals throughout the tournament. Bregado Flax Educational Centre’s championship-winning squad boasted both the best goalkeeper, Yismery Frias, and the division’s MVP, Brad Alfred, whose clutch performance in the final secured his team’s title.
Meanwhile, Tyrique Phillip of Ivan Dawson Primary topped the goal-scoring charts in the Under-12 division, while St. Georges Primary’s title-winning duo of T’Moi Scatliffe and Christian Campbell claimed the Golden Glove and MVP honours, respectively.
Speaking during the ceremony, Technical Director of the BVI Football Association Paul Decle thanked the sponsors BDO Limited, CCT and 284 Media for making the tournament a reality and highlighted the important role it plays in the development of youth football in the territory.
Managing Director of BDO Limited Ryan Geluk said he was impressed with the quality of football displayed by the youth, noting that the future of football in the BVI is in great hands.
The 2024-25 BDO Schools League once again highlighted the immense talent and bright future of youth football in the British Virgin Islands. With players demonstrating skill, determination, and sportsmanship, the competition was a testament to the growing development of the sport at the grassroots level.
