The Customs Department is concerned about the number of packages coming through the Courier Service with contraband items and is putting mechanisms in place to stop this.
Acting Commissioner Clinton Romney stated that for the year so far, the department discovered four packages on different occasions addressed to persons here with illegal drugs which have been handed over to the Police.
Romney explained that they are working to establish a Courier Declaration Centre, whereby all packages coming through that service will be channelled through that facility and inspected by Customs.
