In a strong show of support for women in sports, CIBC Caribbean has sponsored Synergy, the reigning national women’s softball champions, with a $3,500 donation.
The sponsorship was presented at the bank’s Road Town branch on March 6, in celebration of International Women’s Day, under the theme “Accelerating Action.”
The presentation was made by Vernecia Holder, Head of International Banking at CIBC Caribbean, to Bria Smith, Captain of Synergy. This marks the first major sponsorship for the team in recent years and recognizes Synergy’s remarkable achievement of remaining undefeated for four consecutive years.
“We are thrilled to support Synergy, a team that exemplifies dedication, resilience, and excellence,” said Holder.” At CIBC Caribbean, we are committed to fostering empowerment and providing resources that help individuals and teams achieve their full potential.”
Banking, Financial Literacy, and Empowerment
Following the sponsorship presentation, Synergy players were given an exclusive tour of the bank, led by Tara Stoutt, Business Development Officer. The team had the opportunity to meet bank staff and gain insights into the operations of CIBC Caribbean.
The tour concluded with an informative session led by Valissa Graham, Business Banking Manager, who introduced the players to CIBC Caribbean’s digital banking solutions. She demonstrated how the team members can use these tools to accelerate action toward their financial and personal goals.
Gratitude from Synergy
Captain Smith expressed deep appreciation for the bank’s support.
“This generous sponsorship from CIBC Caribbean means a great deal to us. It not only helps us maintain our competitive edge but also reinforces the value of women in sports and leadership,” Smith stated.
