Firearms, Ammunition, and Drugs Recovered
The arrests stem from targeted searches at two residences, where officers seized an AR-15 rifle, a 9mm Glock pistol, 52 rounds of ammunition, and 260 grams of cannabis. These recoveries bring the total number of firearms seized in 2025 to eight.
Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool emphasized the urgency of combatting illegal firearm possession, noting that the number of ammunition recovered so far this year surpasses the number of days in the year.
“While this reflects the dedication and commitment of the RVIPF officers, it also highlights the alarming presence of illegal firearms and ammunition in our Territory. This reality should serve as a wake-up call to all law-abiding citizens.”
Vanterpool urged the public to support law enforcement efforts in tackling gun violence and criminal activity, stressing that only through collective action can the BVI remain a safe place to live, work, and visit.
Public Encouraged to Report Suspicious Activity
The RVIPF noted that it remains committed to removing illegal weapons from communities and ensuring public safety. Authorities are calling on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
