Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town Donates to Barracudas Swimming Group

Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town proudly made a generous donation to the Barracudas, a local swimming group dedicated to fostering young talent in the British Virgin Islands. Led by the passionate Rebecca Nockolds, the Barracudas provide invaluable opportunities for youths to learn and excel in swimming while promoting both physical fitness and personal growth.

The donation, which aims to support the group’s activities and enhance their training programs, reflects the Rotary Club Sunrise ongoing commitment to community service and youth development. Faye Smith-Penn, President of Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town (RCSRT) expressed that “RCSRT is committed to empower youths and provide them with the resources needed to succeed and compete internationally. Supporting the Barracudas aligns with Rotary’s mission of youth inclusion and making significant contribution toward community development.”

Rebecca Nockolds, the leader of the Barracudas, expressed her gratitude for the support. “This donation will make a significant difference for our swimmers, and allow the young athletes to reach their full potential.”

The Barracudas have become a vital part of the community, instilling discipline, teamwork, and resilience in their members. Many young swimmers have already achieved remarkable milestones, participating and winning regional and international competitions and building lasting friendships along the way.

The collaboration between the Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town and the Barracudas highlights the power of community partnerships in enriching the lives of young people. As the swimming group continues to grow, both organizations look forward to future initiatives that will further benefit the youth of the British Virgin Islands.
