The BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (COMHSA) say they are pleased to acknowledge the generous contribution of essential mental health resources from MKS Law, formerly known as Martin Kenney & Co. The donation supports the completion of the “Mindful Rooms” initiative, an extension of the ongoing Mindful campaign targeted specifically at promoting mental wellness across schools in the Virgin Islands.
MKS Law, a premier asset recovery and commercial litigation practice headquartered in the Virgin Islands, is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading law firms in asset tracing and recovery. Founded by renowned attorney Martin Kenney, the firm is known not only for its tenacious legal strategies and global reach, but also for its long-standing commitment to ethical advocacy and community upliftment.
Commenting on the firm’s involvement, Martin Kenney, Founding Partner of MKS Law, stated:
“At MKS Law, we believe in supporting the communities that support us. Mental health is an essential pillar of a thriving society, and we are particularly proud to invest in the wellness of our youth, including future legal minds and leaders of the Virgin Islands.”
The resources provided by MKS Law including age-appropriate books, games, visual aids, and therapeutic tools will be integrated into school counseling and wellness programs to encourage resilience, emotional intelligence, and open dialogue around mental health among students.
Dr. Virginia Rubaine, Director of COMHSA, shared her appreciation for this generous contribution and encouraged more partners to come forward:
“We are deeply grateful to MKS Law for their generous support of our Mindful rooms initiative. Their donation will help empower our students with the tools and language to explore their emotional wellbeing in safe, supportive spaces.”
With this show of their commitment to holistic health and community empowerment, MKS Law joins our growing ranks of donors to this campaign which includes Unite BVI and Harneys. We encourage like-minded corporate citizens and private entities to partner with us! Together, we can cultivate a future where mental health is understood, supported, and prioritized at every stage of life.”
