The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has confirmed the identity of the man who tragically lost his life in a drowning incident off the western coast of Tortola on Tuesday, April 9, 2025.
The deceased has been identified as Ranceford George Burnett, 68, a Jamaican national residing in Sea Cow’s Bay.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Mr. Burnett was reportedly fishing in a dangerous area in Carrot Bay when he was swept into the sea. Despite efforts to assist him, he could not be revived. His body was later recovered and officially pronounced dead.
No foul play is suspected.
