14 NEW COVID-19 CASES IN USVI TAKES TOTAL CONFIRMED CASES TO 297; DEPT. OF HEALTH TRACKING 156

Fourteen new cases of Covid-19 (Coronavirus 2019) were confirmed in the U.S. Virgin Islands on Saturday, according to a Dept. of Health infographic. St. Croix saw 12 new cases, while both St. Thomas and St. John saw 1 new case each.

There were 54 test results pending as of Saturday, and a total of 6,938 tests were performed, out of which 6,587 returned negative and 297 positive.

Six people have died: two in St. Thomas and four on St. Croix.

Two of the 12 cases on St. Croix were transmitted through close contact, while 10 were under investigation. To date, 76 cases remain under investigation on St. Croix, while 21 were transmitted through community spread, 67 close contact, and 31 cases were travel-related.

On St. Thomas, 17 cases are listed as related to travel, 34 close contact, 27 community spread, and 12 were under investigation as of Saturday night.

On St. John, 5 cases were transmitted through community spread and 5 through travel. Two remained under investigation as of Saturday.

The Dept. of Health is tracking 108 active cases on St. Croix, 41 actives on St. Thomas, and 7 on St. John.
