Approximately 700 new COVID-19 infections have been recorded in The Bahamas in the last seven days.
According to information shared by the Ministry of Health, of the 693 new cases, 510 were identified in New Providence.
Grand Bahama has recorded a slight increase in cases with 63 new infections in the past week.
The 56 new cases recorded on Sunday brought the total number of confirmed cases in The Bahamas to 6466.
There are 2307 active cases, of which 101 people are being treated at the hospital.
The COVID-19 death toll is now 132 with 14 deaths still under investigation.
New Providence and Abaco remain on a 7 pm to 5am curfew with 24-hour weekend lockdowns.
Over the weekend tourism Minister Dionisia D’Aguilar said despite the surge in cases, the country is still on track to reopen its borders on November 1.
